Weather update: Rain, thunderstorm predicted in parts of the country

LAHORE: (Web Desk) The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall for various cities starting from February 19.

According to the department, the weather system is likely to bring much-needed rain after a long dry spell.

Met Office predicted that the frontal weather system is expected to persist in Northern areas till 21st February.

Met Office predicted rain-wind and snowfalls in Murree and Galliyat from February 19 to 21 with occasional gaps. The twin cities also expected to experience thunderstorm with rains.

In Gilgit Baltistan, rain-wind along with heavy snowfalls is anticipated. The various regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi are likely to experience rain-wind/thunderstorm with few heavy snowfalls on 19th and 20th February with occasional gaps.

The weather department also forecast rain-wind/thunderstorm and snowfalls over hills in parts of Balochistan including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, and Zhob.

Meanwhile, dry weather is expected in various parts of Sindh.
