Rain-wind, thundershower expected in various parts of country

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) Rain-wind or thundershower is expected in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast/South Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, Sindh, Northeast/South Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating upper/central parts of the country. A westerly wave is prevailing over upper parts of the country.

Heavy falls may also occur at isolated places during the period. Hot and humid weather expected in other parts of the country.

On Sunday, mainly hot and humid weather was expected in most parts of the country. Isolated rain-wind or thundershower was expected in Eastern/South Punjab, Upper Sindh, Northeast/South Balochistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), during the past 24 hours, rain-windstorm/thundershower occurred in Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and northeast Balochistan. Hot and humid weather prevailed over other parts of the country.

Rainfall (mm) was recorded in Punjab as follows: Bahawalnagar 67, Bahawalpur (City 61, Airport 30), Multan (Airport 46, City 31), Bhakkar 40, Murree 34, DG Khan 12, Leh, Kasur 08, Islamabad (Bokra 05), Khanpur, Narowal , Jhang, Sialkot 05, Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 04), Khanewal 04, Okara 03, Sahiwal 02, Sheikhupura 01,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Dera Ismail Khan (City 28, Airport 07), Charat 18, Peshawar (Airport 15, City 13), Saidu Sharif 12, Bacha Khan Airport 13, Kakul 09, Dir (Upper 08, Lower 03), Balakot 06, Mardan, Patan 03, Malam Jabba 02, Drosh, Kalam 01, Baluchistan: Bar Khan 04, Kashmir: Rawalakot 22, Muzaffarabad (City , Airport 10), Gadhi Dupta 03, Gilgit-Baltistan: Astor 01.
