Monsoon winds enter across the country, heavy rains predicted

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains, saying that heavy rains are likely from August 4 to 7 as monsoon winds enter the country.

PMD said that heavy rain is likely in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Upper Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Department has predicted that heavy rain is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Murree and Galiyat on August 6 and 7.

Tourists have been advised to be cautious, saying that there is a risk of landslides in Murree, Galiyat, and Azad Kashmir.

Similarly, rain and storms are forecast in the northeastern districts of Balochistan on August 6. There is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas due to heavy rains, due to which citizens have been instructed to exercise caution.

The Meteorological Department has also issued instructions to all relevant agencies to remain alert and take precautionary measures. Tourists have also been advised to avoid travelling during rain and be aware of the weather conditions.
