Karachi is experiencing hot and mostly dry weather today, with clear skies dominating throughout the day and into the evening.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and supporting weather sources, there is no expectation of heavy rainfall today, allowing the city to enjoy a relatively stable weather pattern for the next 24 hours.
The PMD’s daily advisory notes that hot and dry conditions will continue across much of Sindh, including Karachi, during the day.
Temperatures are expected to hover between the mid-30s and low-40s °C in several areas, with Karachi recording highs close to 36 °C.
Humidity levels are moderate, but the absence of clouds or rainfall makes the heat more noticeable in the city’s urban environment.
However, this calm phase may be short-lived. The PMD’s weekly outlook warns of an approaching low-pressure system combined with monsoon currents likely to enter southern Pakistan from Saturday, September 6.

These weather patterns are expected to bring a significant shift, with rain, wind, and thundershowers forecasted across Sindh.
Karachi, in particular, may see heavy downpours at times between September 6 and 9, which could trigger urban flooding in low-lying regions such as Saddar, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Korangi.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain alert and follow weather advisories, especially those living in flood-prone areas.
Although it is still mostly dry today, the people of Karachi are urged to be ready for any interruptions in the days ahead as the new weather system settles in.
