Qatar unveils 10-year residency for Pakistani entrepreneurs and global investors
(Web Desk): Qatar introduces a 10-year residency program for entrepreneurs and executives, aiming to attract Pakistani investors and boost startups and economic growth.

Qatar has unveiled a landmark 10-year residency program targeting entrepreneurs, senior executives, and global investors, offering a long-term pathway to live and work in the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced the initiative on Sunday, emphasizing its role in attracting international talent and stimulating investment in Qatar’s economy.

The program is designed to draw skilled professionals, including Pakistani entrepreneurs and executives, to establish or expand businesses, aligning with regional trends seen in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Long-term residency schemes in the Gulf aim to create favorable conditions for innovation, entrepreneurship, and foreign direct investment.

In addition to the residency program, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) will boost its venture capital initiative by $2 billion, expanding support for startups and emerging businesses in the country. The current $1 billion “Fund of Funds” program already encourages global venture capital firms to invest in Qatar’s startup ecosystem, promoting technology, innovation, and business growth.

Officials say these strategic moves are part of Qatar’s broader economic diversification plan, reducing dependency on gas revenues while positioning the nation as a regional hub for business, innovation, and global entrepreneurship. Pakistani investors and professionals are expected to benefit significantly from these incentives, with new opportunities to access capital, mentorship, and regional markets.
