KARACHI (Web Desk): Umrah fares have jumped in Ramazan as airlines sharply raised ticket prices amid rising pilgrim rush.

As soon as Ramazan began, both local and international airlines increased Umrah fares significantly. Every year, the number of Umrah pilgrims rises during the holy month, but this time the increase in ticket prices has surprised many travelers.

Due to an unusual surge in pilgrims during the first Ashra of Ramazan, airlines have revised their fares upward. Aviation sources said business class fares have reached up to Rs500,000 per person. Meanwhile, economy and economy plus tickets are being sold between Rs180,000 and Rs200,000.

Sources also warned that fares in the second and third Ashra of the holy month may increase further compared to the first Ashra.

According to details, the normal fare for economy and economy plus used to range between Rs130,000 and Rs140,000. It has now increased to between Rs180,000 and Rs200,000. Similarly, business class tickets that were earlier available between Rs425,000 and Rs450,000 have now climbed to Rs500,000.

Travel agents say that flights of all major airlines are almost full. Seats are very limited, and finding a confirmed booking has become difficult. Market experts believe that if the rush continues to grow, fares may go even higher in the coming days.

Many families planning Umrah in Ramazan are now worried about rising travel costs. Despite high prices, demand remains strong due to the spiritual importance of the month.

Demand is very high in Ramazan. Airlines increase fares when seats are limited. If bookings stay strong, prices may rise again. Pilgrims may have to decide quickly before fares go higher.
