A tragic boat accident has claimed the lives of six young men from Mandi Bahauddin after a migrant vessel sank while travelling from Libya to Italy.
According to reports, the boat was carrying around 105 migrants hoping to reach Europe when it capsized near the coast.
Rescue teams managed to save about 30 passengers, while efforts are still ongoing to locate the remaining missing individuals.
Among the victims and missing persons are five youths from Thatha Kadiwala village in Phalia tehsil, including Tayyab Abbas, Irfan Bashir, Tanveer Sadiq, and Faizan Sajid, along with Iqbal Arshad from Ranmal Sharif and Saad Zafar from Pindi Lala.

One survivor, Imran Asghar Ghuman, safely reached Italy and later informed his family about the incident from a refugee camp.
The heartbreaking news has left families in deep grief, with mourning across the affected villages. Locals are praying for the safe recovery of the missing and the well-being of survivors.
