LAHORE (Web Desk): A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against the recent sharp increase in petrol prices, raising serious concerns about its impact on the public.

Advocate Azhar Siddique submitted the petition on behalf of the Judicial Activism Panel. It argues that the government has imposed an “unprecedented” increase in fuel prices.

According to the petition, the price hike is illegal and goes against the public interest. It warns that ordinary people will face serious financial pressure due to higher daily expenses.

The petitioner stated that the increase in fuel prices will have a direct impact on transport fares, electricity costs, agriculture, and food prices. This could make necessities even more expensive for citizens.
