A six-page judgement was issued by Justice Malik Muhammad Awais Khalid while hearing a petition, filed by Ayesha Nasir.
In the judgement, the judge observed that allowing a woman to pursue a case in the district where she resides would make legal proceedings more convenient and manageable for her. The court emphasized that such an arrangement reduces the difficulties associated with traveling to distant courts and helps ensure that women can effectively participate in the legal process. This approach, the judge noted, not only simplifies procedural matters but also strengthens access to justice by enabling women to seek legal remedies without facing unnecessary logistical and financial burdens.

At the hearing, the petitioner requested the court to shift her case from the Family Court in Jaranwala to Lahore. She stated that her husband, Aun Abbas, had previously instituted a case in the Family Court of Faisalabad.
After reviewing the case, the court highlighted that permitting women to file family cases in the district where they reside helps prevent unnecessary difficulties and ensures a more convenient and efficient legal process.
