(Web Desk): The Punjab government has officially launched the Punjab Bewa Sahara Card scheme to provide financial support to widows across the province, offering them immediate relief and socio-economic assistance.

Under the initiative, every widow will receive Rs100,000. Mothers with one child will get an extra Rs25,000, while support for up to two children will total Rs50,000.

This move is designed to help vulnerable women, especially in rural areas where access to resources is limited.

The Department of Zakat will oversee the distribution of the Punjab Bewa Sahara Card, with rural Zakat committees submitting lists of eligible widows to ensure timely delivery, particularly before Ramazan.

The total estimated cost of the program is Rs4,000,000,000, reflecting the government’s commitment to support widows and their families.

Officials emphasized that the Punjab Bewa Sahara Card scheme is not just financial aid but a step toward improving living standards and empowering widows socially and economically.

The program will also help mothers meet educational and daily needs of their children, ensuring broader community benefits.
