BISP payment process changes as new wallet system made easier
The authorities said beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) do not need to go anywhere to create a wallet account. The system will automatically link their accounts through the BISP database and inform them once the process is completed.
Automatic account linking
Under the new mechanism, BISP will connect beneficiaries with a relevant bank or mobile wallet without requiring any separate application. This step is aimed at making payments faster and reducing difficulties faced by beneficiaries.
Officials said the linked account details will be shared with beneficiaries after the verification and activation process is completed. The new approach is expected to simplify the payment distribution system across the country.
Which banks and wallets will provide payments?
Several leading financial institutions have been included in the new payment framework. These include HBL, Bank Alfalah, Bank of Punjab, HBL Connect, JazzCash and Easypaisa.
Beneficiaries will be linked with one of these banks or wallets according to their district. This arrangement is intended to improve accessibility and reduce travel requirements for payment collection.
How will beneficiaries receive payments?
The payment withdrawal process has been designed to be secure and simple. Beneficiaries will first be required to complete biometric verification through thumb authentication to activate their accounts and receive funds.
After successful verification, beneficiaries will be able to collect their money from bank branches, ATMs or designated BISP retailer points. This system is expected to enhance transparency and minimize payment-related issues.
Mobile wallet shopping and transfers
The new model also offers additional convenience for beneficiaries. They will be able to transfer money directly from their mobile wallets to other beneficiaries or approved grocery stores without withdrawing cash.
This feature is expected to encourage digital transactions and make everyday purchases easier. It may also help beneficiaries save time and reduce dependence on cash handling.
Update on next BISP installment
Officials noted that the wallet SIM process is still underway. Since the release of the next installment is linked to the completion of this process, a final payment date has not yet been announced.

Beneficiaries have been advised to wait for official communication regarding future payments. Further updates are expected once the wallet activation process is completed nationwide.
The new wallet system could make BISP payments more convenient and transparent. If implemented smoothly, it may reduce long queues and give beneficiaries more control over how they receive and use their funds.
