These holidays, falling on a Saturday and Sunday, are aimed to provide a chance for people to participate in religious gatherings and remember the ultimate sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussein ibn Ali (RA), along with his family and companions, who were martyred in the Battle of Karbala. All public and private institutions will remain closed during this period to ensure full respect for these sacred days.
Meanwhile, the Karachi Traffic Police have unveiled an extensive traffic management plan to assist citizens during Muharram processions on the 8th, 9th, and 10th. According to Suno News, central processions will start at Nishtar Park, follow specific routes, and conclude at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
For security reasons, MA Jinnah Road will be closed from Guru Mandir to Tower during these processions. Traffic from Nazimabad heading towards Nishtar Road via Lasbela can move from Garden, while vehicles coming from Liaquatabad can turn right from Teen Hatti towards Lasbela and Martin Road.

The dedicated traffic plans show careful coordination to balance processions and daily commuting needs in Karachi. Such measures highlight the cultural importance of Muharram and demonstrate efforts to facilitate citizens in paying tribute to the martyrs of Karbala with dignity and security.
