According to experts, the moon should be at least 19 hours old to be clearly visible to the human eye. Since the moon will be only 11 hours old on May 27, the chances of seeing the moon on that day are almost zero.
On the contrary, the moon will be more than 35 hours old on May 28, which is considered the most suitable age for sighting the crescent. For this reason, experts say that there are bright chances of seeing the moon of Zil Hajj in different parts of the country on May 28.
If the moon is sighted on May 28, then according to the Islamic calendar, 1st Zil Hajj will be on May 29. Accordingly, Eidul Azha in Pakistan will be celebrated on Saturday, 10th Zil Hajj, which turns out to be June 7. According to astronomers estimates, the sky is likely to be clear in most parts of the country on May 28, due to which no major obstacle is expected in the sighting of the moon.
The PMD sources say that technically, the position of the moon and its angle at sunset is creating a situation that makes it impossible to see the moon on May 27. However, the final decision will be taken by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will collect moon sightings from across the country and make a formal announcement in this regard.
Eidul Azha is an important religious festival of Muslims that commemorates the sacrifice of Prophet Abraham, and on this occasion, Muslims sacrifice animals. Preparations for the day will begin across the country with the announcement of the Eid date, and crowds are expected to increase in the cattle markets.
