Sindh govt announces public holiday on Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s Urs

KARACHI: (Web Desk) The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on August 20 to mark the annual Urs of renowned Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
According to the notification issued by the provincial government, all government offices, educational institutions, and businesses will remain closed on August 20.
The Sindh government will organise the Shah Latif Literary Conference, traditional Sindh wrestling matches, Sufi music performances, agricultural and industrial exhibitions, a cultural village showcasing Sindhi heritage, and the distribution of the prestigious Shah Latif Award as part of the three-day Urs celebrations.
The Sindh government announced the public holiday on the occasion of the Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in recognition of his contributions to Sindhi literature and culture. His poetry and teachings continue to inspire people around the world.
