
During her speech in the Punjab Assembly, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the new date for distributing electric motorcycles to students and said the Punjab government is starting the distribution of e-bikes on July 10.
Students will be able to get electric motorbikes through monthly installments. Male students will pay a monthly installment of Rs11,676, and female students will pay Rs7,325 as a monthly installment to get the bikes.

In urban areas, male and female students will be allocated a 50 percent quota each. In rural areas, male students will be allocated a 70 percent quota while female students will be allocated a 30 percent quota.
It is to be noted here that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a plan to provide 20,000 motorcycles to students under the Chief Minister's Youth Initiative on April 12 this year.
19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 electric bikes will be provided to students across the province.
The Punjab government will pay a subsidy of Rs1 billion to provide interest-free bikes to the students. It will also pay Rs20,000 worth of down payment on behalf of the students.
The Punjab government will also pay the markup on monthly installments of the bikes.
In the first phase, electric bikes will be given in Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. The bikes will be given in proportion to the population in each district.
