LAHORE (Web Desk): The Sindh government has appointed Karachi police chief Javed Akhtar Odho as the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, following the retirement of Ghulam Nabi Memon.

According to a notification by Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah, Odho, an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (BS-21) and Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Karachi Range, will hold the additional charge of IGP Sindh until further orders.

Odho took charge as Additional IGP Karachi last year and assumed the IGP Sindh role on the same day Memon retired. A police spokesperson confirmed the smooth transition of command.

Outgoing IGP Memon, in his farewell message, highlighted his focus on ‘technology-driven policing’ and ‘systemic investigation reforms’ as part of his policing strategy.
