In Punjab, every citizen’s mobile phone has now become a Safe City camera. Under the “Safe Punjab” vision of the Chief Minister, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority has taken a significant step to enhance public safety.
The aim of this revolutionary initiative is to instantly share video evidence of critical incidents with the Safe City system, reducing response time and ensuring timely assistance. As part of this, the Safe City Public Safety app has introduced a new “Connect to PSCA” feature, which allows citizens to directly link their mobile cameras to the Safe City Control Room.
Through this feature, citizens can provide live video of any important or emergency situation to the Safe City system, enabling authorities to assess the situation in real-time.

According to a Safe City spokesperson, when a call is made to the emergency helpline 15, a Safe City officer will send a special live-feed link to the caller. Once the link is opened, the citizen’s mobile camera connects directly to the Safe City Control Room, allowing officials to view the incident live and take immediate action.
The spokesperson emphasized that this service is strictly for emergency situations and requested citizens to keep their mobile location on for accurate identification of the incident site. They also advised against sharing unnecessary videos, as the feature is intended solely for prompt emergency response and timely intervention.
