LAHORE (Web Desk): Punjab government has issued a strict security plan for the visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to Lahore.

The Home Department has instructed police and relevant authorities to ensure his safety throughout the trip. Orders have been given to IG Punjab, CCPO Lahore, and the Special Branch for special security arrangements.

According to the notification, DIG Operations, Special Branch, and Traffic Police have been asked to remain alert during the visit. Full-proof security will be maintained during Suhail Afridi’s movements across the city.

The district administration of Lahore will coordinate the visit, while Punjab Police will take complete responsibility for his stay, travel, and movements. Strict measures have been ordered to prevent any untoward incidents.

Sources say the detailed schedule of Sohail Afridi’s visit has been shared with all relevant departments. Security has been further tightened at the Punjab Assembly, media sessions, and during his visit to Kot Lakhpat Jail.

Authorities have also issued instructions to plan traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement during the trip.

All institutions have been given prior alerts, and reports of implementation are to be sent to the Home Department. Sohail Afridi is scheduled to visit Lahore from 26 to 28 December.

During his stay, he will meet members of the Punjab Assembly, journalists, students, and also visit Kot Lakhpat Jail to meet detained PTI leaders.
