LAHORE (Web Desk): PTI leader Aliya Hamza has been arrested in Lahore in multiple cases after arriving to celebrate Eid with her family.

Punjab Chief Organiser of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Aliya Hamza, was taken into custody by police in connection with several cases registered against her.

Sources said she had come to Lahore to celebrate Eid with her family and children when she was arrested by law enforcement authorities.

After her arrest, she was shifted to an undisclosed location. So far, no official statement has been issued by the authorities regarding her detention.

Aliya Hamza has previously been sentenced in different cases. A court awarded her a 10-year jail term in the May 9 riots case, while she also received a 5-year sentence in other cases.

The Shadman police station arson case involves 19 accused, including senior political figures such as Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed, and Sanam Javed.

Her arrest has once again drawn attention to ongoing legal cases linked to the May 9 incidents, which continue to shape the country’s political and legal landscape.
