Islamabad (Web Desk): Murad Saeed resigns from the Senate in protest against Imran Khan’s alleged mistreatment, urging wider resignations and nationwide demonstrations.

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Murad Saeed announced his resignation from the Senate, saying he could not continue in office while former Prime Minister Imran Khan remains jailed and, according to him, unfairly treated.

Murad Saeed said he has sent his resignation to PTI’s caretaker chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, and party General Secretary Salman Akram Raja.

He demanded that other PTI lawmakers also resign from parliamentary forums. He proposed that members of the Senate, National Assembly, and provincial assemblies of Punjab and Sindh should step down as part of a larger protest movement.

Murad Saeed called for immediate medical treatment of Imran Khan in the presence of his personal doctors. He accused the authorities of not fully implementing the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

He claimed that party supporters, especially young workers, have been blocking highways for the past 36 hours. He stressed the need to challenge what he described as the roots of the current government.

The PTI leader also alleged that members who held peaceful sit-ins were detained inside parliament. He urged the party to expand protests across the country.

His resignation adds fresh political tension at a time when the country is already facing strong political divisions.
