Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that unnecessary and irresponsible speculation about the CDF notification is going on.

He confirmed that the process for issuing the notification has already started. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to return soon, and the official notification will be issued on schedule.

The minister emphasized that there is no room for rumors or speculation regarding the CDF notification.

It is important to note that the post of Chief of Defence Forces was created after the 27th Amendment.

With parliamentary approval, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has been appointed to this new post, but the official notification has not yet been issued.
