(Web Desk): At least 15 people were killed in Karachi after a gas cylinder blast triggered a roof collapse in Rana Colony, sparking panic in the area.

People lost their lives in the tragic Karachi roof collapse caused by a gas cylinder explosion in Rana Colony, Soldier Bazaar, on Wednesday.

The deadly incident occurred near Aga Khan School on Street No. 5 in Rana Colony, where the intensity of the blast led to the collapse of a residential roof. Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion was so powerful that nearby buildings shook, spreading fear and panic throughout the neighborhood.

Rescue teams and emergency response units rushed to the scene immediately after the blast was reported. Ambulances from the Edhi Foundation played a key role in shifting the injured to Civil Hospital Karachi, where they received urgent medical treatment.

According to rescue sources, the deceased included a young man identified as Talha and a 60-year-old man named Riaz. Authorities confirmed that relief operations were completed, while investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the gas cylinder blast.

Officials have urged residents to follow safety precautions when handling gas cylinders to prevent similar accidents. The tragic Karachi explosion has once again raised concerns about building safety standards and the safe storage of gas cylinders in densely populated urban areas.
