Islamabad declares local holiday on December 26

LAHORE (Web Desk): Islamabad will have a local holiday on December 26, Friday, due to the expected arrival of a high-level foreign delegation in the capital.

 

Additional District Magistrate Sahibzada Muhammad Youaf issued the official notification declaring the holiday due to the official visit of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on December 26.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, this will be Al Nahyan’s first visit to Pakistan as the president of the UAE.

However, offices providing essential services will remain open to ensure public needs are met.

The notification specifically mentioned that offices like MCI, CDA, ICT Administration, ICT Police, IESCO, SNGP, and hospitals will continue functioning on the holiday.

This local holiday aims to facilitate smooth arrangements for the visiting delegation while maintaining critical services for residents.
