Former Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has said that the proposed China peace plan suggests Beijing may be aiming to shape a new world order, as geopolitical tensions intensify across the Middle East and beyond.
Speaking during a televised discussion, Chaudhry noted that recent agreements between Pakistan and China indicate a broader strategic vision that could redefine global power dynamics following ongoing conflicts in the region.

US Domestic Pressure and Iran-Israel Conflict Dynamics
Chaudhry also pointed to growing domestic pressure in the United States, suggesting that large-scale protests could impact upcoming midterm elections. He noted that this may influence Washington’s decision-making regarding ongoing conflicts.
According to him, the US could potentially declare mission success and scale back involvement, while tensions between Iran and Israel may continue at a lower intensity, keeping the region unstable.
Trust Deficit and Regional Power Alignments
The former diplomat highlighted that Iran places significant trust in Pakistan and China, while expressing skepticism about US intentions regarding negotiations.
He questioned whether Washington is genuinely interested in diplomatic solutions or pursuing strategic objectives under the guise of peace efforts.
Geopolitical Implications of China’s Peace Initiative
Analysts believe the China peace plan could mark a turning point in global geopolitics, signaling Beijing’s ambitions to play a more assertive role in conflict resolution and international governance.
If successful, the initiative may reshape alliances, influence regional stability, and redefine the balance of power in the Middle East.
