The negotiations will be held regarding Seminaries Registration Bill.
As per sources, PM Sharif made a contact with Maulana Fazl and asked him to hold talks on the matter. Sources claimed that the JUI-F chief would brief the prime minister on Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-Madaris stance on the issue.
If the premier comes up with the new suggestions, Fazlur Rehman will again approach the Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-Madaris for consultation, sources stated.
Maulana Fazl contacted Mufti Taqi Usmani for consultation after receiving premier’s invitation for negotiations.
It is pertinent to note that Ittehad Tanzeemat-i-Madaris Pakistan announced that seminaries would not become part of any government department and remain autonomous.
It must be remembered that these organisations, in 2019, had agreed to come under the control of the federal education ministry.
The Ittehad vowed to support JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman after meeting him at his residence, reiterating demand of issuance of a gazette notification for the Societies Registration (Amendment) Bill 2024.
Mufti Taqi Usmani, in a statement, said that seminaries would remain autonomous and would not become subservient to authorities in Pakistan like in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt.
