Prominent ANP leader and ex-Senator Ilyas Bilour passes away at 84

PESHAWAR: (Web Desk) Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, a former senator and prominent leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), has died in Peshawar at the age of 84.
Bilour was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Peshawar for kidney disease he had been suffering for several months.
The news has been confirmed by his brother and senior ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour.
As a key ANP member, Ilyas Bilour served as a senator in 2012 and remained associated with the party throughout his political career.
The funeral prayer for Ilyas Bilour was held at Wazir Bagh in Peshawar, according to ANP leader Samer Haroon Bilour.
In response to Bilour’s passing, President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his deep sorrow and offered heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Ilyas Bilour.
He prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace and for the family to have the strength to bear this loss with patience.
