PTI terminates Sher Afzal Marwat’s basic membership
ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has terminated the basic membership of MNA Sher Afzal Marwat and asked him to resign from the National Assembly seat as well.

PTI Additional General Secretary Firdous Shamim Naqvi issued a notification, stating that PTI has decided to terminate the basic membership of Sher Afzal Marwat for serious violations of the party discipline.

The notification said that Sher Afzal Marwat had also been issued a show cause notice and asked to give statements according to the party policy.

It added that a committee had also been formed to monitor the tweets and media statements of Sher Afzal Marwat.

The notification said the committee concluded that Sher Afzal Marwat does not follow the rules and regulations of the party at all and considers himself above the party, which has badly distorted the image and narrative of the party.

Barrister Gohar ‘unaware’ of Marwat’s expulsion from PTI

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said he is not aware of the development. He said he just read the notification and didn’t think it was genuine. He said he was not informed about the decision.

He said how Marwat could be expelled when he, the PTI chairman, was not aware of it. He said he, being the party chairman, cannot approve any such measure. He said if anybody had taken the decision on his own, he would not approve it.
