On the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan, the chief minister visited Mazar-e-Iqbal and prayed for the development and prosperity of the nation.
On the occasion, she wrote her impressions in a special diary, but she faced difficulty in writing Urdu.
A social media user commented that “nowadays everyone faces difficulty in writing Urdu because there is no attention towards the promotion of Urdu and its daily use in writing, reading and teaching. Everyone is attracted towards English.”
The chief minister paid homage to Allama Iqbal and attended the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Alamgiri Gate of the Shahi Fort, where a troop of Boy Scouts saluted her.
Addressing the Independence Day ceremony, Maryam Nawaz congratulated the nation and said that Pakistan is a great blessing from Allah. “Pakistan is a progressive nation and we should value the freedom that we have got,” she emphasised.
She further said minorities also have equal rights in Pakistan, adding this country belongs to all.
Maryam Nawaz reiterated the commitment to bring glory to the country in every field and also appreciated the role of Pakistani forces and law enforcement agencies.
Maryam Nawaz said during her speech that Pakistan can become an ideal country if political stability is achieved in the country.
“We should think as one nation to change the destiny of Pakistan,” she emphasised and paid homage to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
