LAHORE (Web Desk): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has announced a nationwide protest on October 7 against Israel’s recent attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla

Global Sumud Flotilla- a humanitarian ship carrying peaceful activists, including former JI senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and human rights advocates. The activists were reportedly detained following the assault.

During a press conference in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem strongly condemned the attack and criticized the broader US Israel alliance. He rejected former US Donald Trump’s Middle East peace plan, calling it a “license to kill more Palestinians.”

“This is not a peace plan — it’s a plan to secure Israel and suppress Palestine,” he stated. He further warned that accepting such plans would weaken Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.

Hafiz Naeem described Hamas as a resistance movement fighting against occupation and emphasized that international law supports the right of occupied people to resist.

He also opposed Pakistan’s perceived soft stance on Israel, including the Abraham Accords. “We will resist any attempt to accept Israel or normalize relations under any pretext,” he declared.

In response to the flotilla incident, JI has called for two actions:

  • A solidarity march on October 4
  • A nationwide protest on October 7

Hafiz Naeem concluded by accusing the United States of enabling Israeli aggression and destabilizing global peace.
