This initiative aims to reduce the difficulties the public faces in obtaining passports and to provide greater convenience. The Passport Department has started immediate implementation of the Minister’s directives.
As part of this effort, passport processing counters are being set up at NADRA’s mega centers in major cities across the country, including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Ten new passport processing counters are being established in Karachi’s Nazimabad and Site Area to provide facilities closer to the public. The office at the public center has already been made operational 24/7, and the Garden Town office in Lahore has also been equipped to offer 24/7 service.
Director General Immigration and Passport Mustafa Jamal stated that this service will not be limited to Karachi and Lahore but will be extended to major cities nationwide. The Islamabad office is already providing 24/7 service, and this initiative will ensure the timely issuance of passports to the applicants.
This move by the Interior Minister will eliminate delays and ease the difficulties faced by the public in passport issuance. Mustafa Jamal assured that additional facilities would be provided, keeping in mind the needs of citizens
