
Speaking at a ceremony about the government’s relief package, the prime minister shared positive economic news, saying that a key promise made by Nawaz Sharif in his manifesto has now been fulfilled. He recalled that when his government took over, the country was on the brink of bankruptcy.
Shehbaz said that despite economic challenges, the government successfully navigated through tough times. He accused opponents of trying to push Pakistan towards default and blocking the IMF deal for political gains. However, with the support of the Army Chief and his team, the government overcame these obstacles.
He highlighted that stabilizing the economy was difficult, but efforts have paid off. Now, with economic stability in place, the government is fulfilling its promises. He also criticized political rivals for prioritizing their interests over the country’s future.
Concluding his speech, he said that Pakistan has avoided default, and the economy is now on a stable path.
