LAHORE (Web Desk): Big warning for traffic rules violators as vehicles and motorcycles of repeat perpetrators will now be seized and auctioned, officials announced.

Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Dr Athar Waheed revealed that 129 motorcycles with fines exceeding their actual value have already been impounded and will soon go under the hammer. These bikes carry unpaid fines ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs374,000 each.

The CTO clarified that citizens who have objections on e-challans can approach the traffic police for verification. He said that a formal request has been sent to Safe City authorities to begin the auction process quickly.

Dr Athar Waheed further explained that Lahore’s traffic system is shifting entirely from manual challaning to e-challaning, bringing more transparency and strictness. After the upgrade of the wardens’ app, fine recoveries have increased tenfold.

He added that the owners of seized motorcycles have already been informed via phone calls about the upcoming auction. Authorities aim to make an example out of this crackdown to ensure better compliance with traffic laws in the city.

The auction plan shows that Lahore traffic police are moving towards stricter enforcement. Bikes with fines higher than their value are being seized, sending a strong signal that repeated violations will not be tolerated. The shift to e-challaning and app upgrades is making the system more effective and transparent. This may finally push drivers to respect traffic laws.
