ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) Former federal information minister Fawad Chaudhry is expected to jump on the bandwagon of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) again as party founder Imran Khan has given his nod to the former’s return.

In May 2023, Fawad Chaudhry parted ways with the former prime minister after May 9 incident when several other members of the PTI, including former cabinet ministers Shireen Mazari, Aamir Kiani and Malik Amin Aslam, also parted ways with Imran over the violence.

Party sources said that both Fawad Ch and the party founder were likely to hold a meeting in Adiala Jail next week.

The sources maintained that Fawad Chaudhry would also be assigned an important responsibility in the party. Also other PTI leaders have supported his return to the party, they said.

Taking to Twitter, Fawad had said he resigned from his party position as senior vice president and spokesperson, stating that he had “decided to take a break from politics”.

His resignation came a day after the resignation of then human rights minister Shireen Mazari who announced her retirement from “active politics” citing personal reasons.

It is important to mention that this development is being discussed when the PTI is facing a rift within the party over the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of parliament.
