ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The tentative schedule for Pakistan’s government holidays in 2026 has been released, although dates may change.

The first public holiday is expected on 5 February for Kashmir Day, while Eid-ul-Fitr holidays are likely from 21 to 23 March.

Other major holidays include Labour Day on 1 May and Youm-e-Takbeer on 28 May. Eid-ul-Adha holidays will begin on 27 May for three days. Ashura holidays are set for 25 and 26 June.

Independence Day will be observed on 14 August, followed by Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 26 August and Youm-e-Iqbal on 9 November. Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas will also be observed, with 26 December reserved for Christian employees.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has released its tentative 2026 public holiday schedule. The UAE list includes 12 holidays, starting with New Year on 1 January, three days of Eid-ul-Fitr, Youm Arafat on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah, three days of Eid-ul-Adha, Islamic New Year on 1 Muharram, Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 12 Rabi-ul-Awal, and UAE National Day from 2 to 3 December.
