The Punjab cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has approved the recruitment drive of school teacher interns across all the government schools of the province. The decision was finalised in a cabinet meeting held in Lahore, which reviewed major administrative and development proposals.
According to the government, the new internship program aims to address teaching staff shortages and improve the quality of education in public schools.
The cabinet also approved the Punjab Protection of Ownership of Immovable Property Ordinance 2025, designed to safeguard citizens’ property rights. In addition, it endorsed a subsidy plan under the Chief Minister High-Tech Farm Mechanization Finance Program to boost agricultural productivity.
In a significant relief for commuters, the cabinet rejected a proposal to increase fares for electric buses operating in Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
