This decision of authorities aims to restore transparency and curb illegal practices.
The Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Inspection has instructed all district officers to conduct comprehensive audits. Superintendent of Police (SP) rank officers will lead these inspections to ensure accountability.
A checklist of 20-points will guide the audits, mainly focusing on corruption complaints, the role of agent mafias, and overcharging of applicants.
The designated teams will investigate bribery, illegal fees, and the involvement of unauthorized agents in or around the driving license centers.
Inspectors will also review video footage from sign and road tests over the past 30 days. Official registers, records, and other supporting evidence will be examined to ensure full transparency in the licensing process.
