(Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari, at the UN World Conference, cautioned that India is using water as a weapon against Pakistan.

He said India’s violation of the Indus Waters Treaty threatens 240 million Pakistanis. “Water is now being used as a weapon against Pakistan. We will never allow such                   pressure tactics to succeed,” he stated.

Zardari accused India of breaking international law and called it a direct threat to regional stability, stressing that millions of Pakistanis’ access to water cannot be denied.

Linking global conflicts, Zardari highlighted Kashmir and Palestine. “The issues of Kashmir and Palestine are two sides of the same coin, people of both sides are fighting for their right to live with dignity,” he said, condemning the suffering in Gaza.

Domestically, he pledged that all children in Pakistan will be in school within five years. He also emphasized the Green Pakistan Program for sustainable development and climate protection. “Learning modern sciences is indispensable in today’s world,” he added.

The three-day Doha summit concluded with the Doha Summit Declaration, reaffirming commitments to Sustainable Development Goals, poverty eradication, and equal access to health and education.

It also stressed inclusive decision-making for youth, disabled, and marginalized groups.

On the sidelines, Zardari met with leaders of Iraq and Tajikistan and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, discussing trade, visas, and regional cooperation. He accepted invitations to visit Baghdad and Tajikistan.
