(Web Desk): Suicide blast in Islamabad kills 12, triggers tightened security across sensitive areas.

Authorities have sealed Islamabad’s red zone after a suicide blast killed 12 people and injured at least 27 others near the G-11 district court. The attack targeted a police vehicle stationed outside the court, officials said.

Following the blast, security agencies across the federal capital heightened protection around sensitive areas. Police set up additional checkpoints at all entry and exit points and increased patrols to prevent further incidents.

Lahore police have also tightened security in response. DIG Faisal Kamran, Lahore Police Operations Chief, confirmed that citywide search-and-sweep operations have intensified. The Dolphin Squad and Parro Force have been assigned extra patrol duties to monitor key locations.

According to news sources, the suicide attack was reportedly carried out by Fitanat-ul-Khawarij, a proxy group linked to the Afghan Taliban and allegedly sponsored by foreign elements. Authorities have not ruled out additional threats, prompting nationwide alert status.

The blast has sparked concern over the safety of citizens and critical infrastructure. Officials across Pakistan continue to monitor sensitive areas and implement emergency response measures.
