(Web Desk): Renowned journalist and television host Iqrar ul Hassan has officially announced his entry into politics.

Iqrar, is a well known crime journalist, he shared the news with his followers, expressing his desire to bring “real change” to Pakistan’s political system through youth empowerment and democratic values.

He hinted at launching a political movement focused on replacing traditional power structures with young, capable, and independent-minded individuals. Iqrar has been visiting various cities to share his political vision and gather support from the public.

While he has not yet disclosed the name of his political party, Iqrar referred to it as a “movement” aimed at uniting youth committed to democracy, institutional reform, and accountability.

On social media, he continues to post regular updates from his meetings and discussions with local communities.

Iqrar said: “The only solution to the problems created by the military and political establishments is for the youth to abandon personality and family-based politics and form a democratic party built on institutional principles, electing leaders through transparent elections and consultation.”

He also announced plans to establish administrative committees across Pakistan, which he said would later evolve into a larger movement. According to him, the leadership of this movement will be chosen through voting — and it could be anyone other than himself.

“The question is, why can’t a common man become the party leader or even the country’s leader when there are Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, or Khan?” Iqrar wrote in another post.

He emphasized that political parties must first introduce internal democracy, arguing that without leadership rotation and fair elections within parties, no true change can take place.

“If the same person remains the party leader for thirty years, the party becomes stagnant,” he added.

Iqrar concluded by saying that his movement will not revolve around personalities but around youth participation and democratic decision-making, stressing that “any common man can become the party’s chairman or even the prime minister of the country.”
