(Web Desk): The Planning Commission has opened applications for its Young Development Fellows program, offering hands-on policy experience with a monthly stipend of Rs 90,000.

The Planning Commission of Pakistan has opened applications for its flagship Young Development Fellows (YDF) program under the Uraan Pakistan initiative, offering young professionals a rare opportunity to work closely with senior policymakers and contribute directly to national development.

Launched by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, the one-year fellowship aims to equip talented youth with practical exposure to public policy, development planning, reform initiatives, and innovation-led governance. Selected fellows will be placed within key policy and planning units, where they will support projects linked to Pakistan’s long-term economic transformation.

Officials said the program is designed to build a new generation of impact-driven leaders capable of addressing national development challenges while supporting the broader objectives of the Uraan Pakistan initiative. Fellows will work alongside experienced government officials, gaining firsthand insight into decision-making processes at the federal level.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet strict eligibility requirements to apply.

·        Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age and hold a minimum GPA of 3.2.

·        Applicants are required to possess either a master’s degree or a 16-year professional qualification from a recognized local or foreign university.

Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 90,000 for the full duration of the fellowship. Officials said the stipend reflects the program’s competitive nature and the professional responsibilities fellows will undertake during the year.

Application Process

Interested candidates must apply through courier only using the prescribed application proforma available on the Planning Commission’s official website at www.pc.gov.pk/web/career.

Applicants are required to submit a hard copy of the completed proforma, along with their CV and attested copies of academic degrees and testimonials.

Authorities stressed that incomplete applications will be rejected, and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews. No TA or DA will be provided at any stage of the selection process. Applications must reach the concerned office within 15 days of the advertisement’s publication.
