(Web Desk): Pakistan’s newest airline, Air Karachi, will take off on March 23, 2026, backed by 42 businessmen and a partnership with PIA.

The much-anticipated Air Karachi first flight date has been officially announced for March 23, 2026, marking the entry of Pakistan’s newest airline into the aviation industry. The airline inaugurated its operations office at the Old Airport in Karachi, attracting senior officials, diplomats, and business leaders.

At the launch ceremony, Secretary of Defense Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Ali praised the project and said it reflects efforts to take Pakistan toward the vision of its founding leaders. He highlighted the key role of Karachi’s business community in strengthening the national economy and improving Pakistan’s image worldwide.

The defense secretary acknowledged the challenges of launching an airline, noting that “some airlines came but couldn’t survive, while others are still flying successfully.” He also appreciated Air Karachi’s partnership with PIA’s engineering division and assured full government support.

Air Karachi Chairman Hanif Gohar revealed that 42 businessmen have joined forces to launch the airline. “We are 42 people who built this airline for the country,” he said, recalling his first license application in 2009.

Air Karachi CEO AVM (Retd) Syed Imran Majid announced that the airline has signed an MoU with PIA for maintenance services. Air Karachi has received its RPT license and is in talks to acquire three Airbus A320 aircraft.
