(Web Desk): The highly-anticipated Woofy app, which will aid animal rescue activities, will launch officially within the next few weeks.

Following over six months of creation and two years of planning, the app will make animal rescue easier and less complicated for citizens, rescuers, veterinarians and welfare organizations.

The Woofy app has been founded by animal welfare activist Yair Salman and app developer Talha Chaudry. It provides step-by-step, detailed instructions for various rescue scenarios, including safe handling, transportation, and rehabilitation for injured animals. Both professionals and regular citizens can use the app, which can help make animal rescue more efficient and accessible.

Users can have different profiles—rescuers can follow cases, update reports, and monitor rescued animals, while reporters can post photos and locations of suffering animals. The app provides a double dashboard system: one to follow the rescued animals  status and another to handle incoming reports. The two dashboards will automatically update in real time, making it transparent and accountable for the rescue process.

For increased efficiency, Woofy will partner with veterinary clinics around the area. There will be an integrated directory linking rescuers to nearby medical institutions for immediate treatment. The app is also location-based in mapping, which assists users in identifying rescue areas, clinics, and shelters.

Most importantly, Woofy will track information on abused and rescued pets and store data on their health status, medical history, and development. This data-driven system intends to further fortify long-term well-being efforts.

While the formal launch date is yet to be announced, Yair Salman indicated that the app will go live "within a few weeks" on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
