According to sources, Lashari stepped down following the transfer of administrative control of key historical sites from the WCLA back to the Department of Archaeology.
During his tenure, the WCLA undertook numerous successful restoration and revamping projects, including work on the Lahore Fort, Sheesh Mahal, Delhi Gate, and several alleys and neighborhoods within the Walled City.
