(Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has offered his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for supporting Gaza peace deal.

Delivering his comments during a press conference at the White House in the presence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump labeled it a "very big day" and extended his thanks to the leadership of Pakistan for standing with them in the peace process.

The US President personally thanked Pakistan s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for supporting the suggested Gaza ceasefire plan. "They were with us all along. In fact, they have just come out with a statement that they completely have faith in this agreement and support it hundred percent," Trump declared.

Describing the advances as "historic," Trump continued that the plan was a result of a long process of consultation with local leaders. He declared that his goal was not only peace for Gaza but also stability in the wider Middle East. He went on to add that talks with Netanyahu also touched on Iran, the Abraham Accords, and long-term regional security.

“We have done good work together, and also with many other countries, and this is the way to resolve the situation,” Trump remarked, praising Netanyahu’s role in advancing the proposal.

Trump emphasized that leaders of a number of Arab and Muslim nations had supported the framework, which he publicly released as his "principles for peace." He hoped the agreement would open the door to a lasting solution to the long conflict.
