BUNER (Web Desk): The death toll in Buner has climbed to 208, marking it as the most heavily impacted district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid the recent flash floods, officials revealed.

Rescue operations remain critical as 50 individuals are still unaccounted for, while at least 120 others have been injured during the disaster that ravaged communities across the district.

Twenty-five family members were inside—20 have been buried, and five remain missing as of August 17, 2025, officials report.

As of today, the total confirmed death toll across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to these mid-August monsoon-induced floods and landslides has surpassed 320, with Buner among the hardest hit districts.

The Chief of Army Staff has directed the Corps of Engineers to repair damaged bridges and construct temporary structures, while soldiers have donated one day’s salary and one day’s rations—over 600 tons—for flood relief.
