(Web Desk): All schools in Mansehra have been closed for two days as heavy monsoon rains continue to damage property and put students at risk.
The decision came from the Deputy Commissioner’s office late Monday, after several parts of Mansehra reported flooding, damaged roads, and ongoing landslides in nearby hilly areas. Officials say the move is meant to keep students safe, especially as slippery roads and blocked routes have made travel risky.

Over the past week, rain has caused serious trouble for local residents. Some homes have been damaged, streets are flooded, and power outages have made daily life difficult. With more rain in the forecast, the administration said it wasn’t worth risking lives just to keep schools open.

The order applies to all boys’ and girls’ schools in the district. Local authorities made the decision after consulting weather experts and other departments. They’ve also advised families to stay indoors and avoid any unnecessary travel over the next few days.

Emergency services remain on alert. Many parents say they’re relieved by the school closure, as they were already worried about sending their children out in such rough weather. Teachers have also backed the move, saying it’s the right call under the circumstances.
