Zahid, previously granted bail in one case on a Rs20,000 bond, remains in police custody under a five-day physical remand in a separate FIR registered at Shalimar Police Station. The remand was approved despite the prosecution s request for an eight-day extension, allowing investigators extra time to recover crucial evidence including a vehicle, weapon, and cash.
During a court hearing, the accused confessed, stating, “Sir, I made a mistake.” The case revolves around the allegations made by Samiya Hijab. She alleged that on August 31 Zahid, purportedly her former fiancé, attempted to forcefully abduct her outside her residence. CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media, intensifying the public outcry and prompting urgent police intervention.

Zahid had harassed her over several months, sending unwanted gifts, stalking her, and threatening her life when she chose to end their engagement, revealed Hijab. The FIR includes charges under multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code—including attempted abduction, assault, harassment, and threats.
Her claims were also supported by forensic evidence, and due to renewed threats, additional security was provided. The court is expected to rule shortly on whether Zahid’s remand should be extended for further investigation.
