In order to prevent vehicle driving without licence, Punjab’s traffic police initiated a scheme, which is set to end on November 30.
According to a reminder issued by the traffic police for unlicensed motorbikers, only three days remain to take benefit from the ongoing relief scheme to get learning and regular driving licenses.
It further said that the authorities would start launching a crackdown on unlicensed bikeriders after November 30. It urged citizens to visit nearby licensing centers with their original Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) to obtain their licenses and avoid legal action.
Additional Inspector General Mirza Farhan Baig pointed out that the initiative has given relief to many people, noting that over 1.2 million citizens have been gained benefits from the relief package.
According to official data, 460,940 individuals have acquired learning licenses, while 764,961 have obtained regular driving licenses. In addition, more than 185,000 licenses were renewed during the relief period.
The traffic police requested motorcyclists to act swiftly before the conclusion of the scheme. “From December 1, the 42-day validity period for learning licenses will be strictly enforced again,” the spokesperson said.
The scheme has been regarded as a significant step toward improving road safety and encouraging compliance with traffic regulations. Motorcyclists are requested not to miss this opportunity as the deadline approaches
