Due to this development, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Karachi and parts of northern Sindh in the coming days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported on Wednesday. The weather office also forecast rough sea conditions and strong winds along the Sindh coastline.
Winds may reach 45–55 km/h, prompting the PMD to issue a strict advisory for fishermen, urging them not to venture into deep sea waters until October 3.
Deputy commissioners and local administrations across coastal areas have been instructed to remain on high alert and take necessary precautionary measures.
The worsening sea conditions come as two major weather systems—one from the Arabian Sea and the other from the Bay of Bengal—are expected to converge, possibly triggering heavy monsoon rains, thunderstorms, and cyclone-like conditions in various parts of the country.

A developing depression in the Arabian Sea is causing concern for Karachi and coastal Sindh. Located 440km south of the city, the system could bring rain, strong winds, and rough seas. With another system from the Bay of Bengal also active, experts warn of possible monsoon intensification. The situation may escalate if the two systems converge, prompting officials to issue warnings and prepare for potentially dangerous weather across southern Pakistan.
