Green Buses Punjab have officially arrived in Faisalabad as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the much-awaited electric bus service today.

The initiative, part of Punjab’s welfare projects, aims to provide citizens with clean, affordable, and reliable public transport.

The service will start with two routes in Faisalabad and gradually expand to seven routes in the coming months.

The fare has been set at Rs. 20 only, while students, senior citizens, and differently-abled persons will enjoy free rides, making it an inclusive initiative for all sections of society.

According to Senator Rana Sanaullah, the Maryam Nawaz development projects are designed to ease the lives of common people, with government subsidies ensuring that transport remains affordable.

Key works include upgrading Nishatabad Road, linking Satiana and Samundri Roads to the motorway, and improving sewerage systems.

The Rs. 100 billion Metro Bus project is also expected to be completed within this year.
